We’ve got a few new devices on pre-order this week, as well as some regular discounts and deals on Sony headphones – let’s get started.
The Oppo F25 Pro was launched on Thursday and is the native variant of the Reno11 F. It houses a 32MP selfie camera (supports 4K video recording) in its 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display (FHD+, 10-bit). It runs ColorOS 14 on the Dimensity 7050 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage (expandable via microSD). The 5000mAh battery supports 67W fast charging. Public sales will begin on March 4.
The Realme 12+ was launched on the same day, with the same Dimensity 7050 chip and the same 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging. The product comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and no card slot. Additionally, it has a 50MP main camera (with OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide angle, as well as a 16MP selfie (1080p video recording).
Realm 12 isn’t even officially released yet. We do know that it will feature a 108MP main camera with 3x in-sensor zoom, but more details are yet to be confirmed. The phone will debut on March 6th.
Infinix Smart 8 Plus is now available for pre-order. This is an entry-level phone with a 6.6-inch 90Hz IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. It is powered by Helio G36 and runs Android 13 Go version. It has a microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, 50MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. There is a large 6,000mAh battery inside that supports 18W charging.
This is almost identical to the Infinix Smart 8 which is already on the market. However, the device runs full Android 13 on Unisoc T606 (an old 12nm chip) and has a 13MP main camera. The battery is smaller and slower at 5,000mAh, 10W.
Lava Storm is a cheap 5G phone powered by Dimensity 6080. It comes with a large 6.78-inch 120Hz FHD+ display, IPS LCD, and 16MP camera. The rear has a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. They are limited by the chipset to 1080p video recording. The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with a charging power of 33W.
This is very similar to the Lava Blaze Pro 5G, but we’d choose the Storm. They’re about the same price, but the Blaze has a slightly weaker Dimensity 6020 chipset, no ultra-wide angle, and only an 8MP selfie camera.
Poco C55 is half price. It’s a 4G-only phone with an HD+ display (6.71-inch IPS LCD, 60Hz) and is powered by the Helio G85. It has expandable storage and a 3.5mm jack. There is a 50MP camera on the back and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The 5000mAh battery only supports basic 10W charging.
The Lava Yuva 3 is priced around the same. It has a smaller 6.5-inch IPS LCD, also with HD+ resolution, but running at 90Hz. It is powered by 12nm Unisoc T606, has a 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. The 5,00mAh battery charges faster and has a power of 18W. Onboard expandable storage and headphone jack.
Next up are Sony headphones – both over-ear and in-ear styles. The Sony WH-1000XM5 has excellent active noise cancellation (better than the XM4) and battery life, and the sound quality is solid. This generation’s microphones have also been significantly improved.
The Sony WH-1000XM4 still performs well, especially when you see the Rs 7,000 discount. The older model was also slightly more comfortable (at least in our opinion).
The Sony WF-1000XM5 are the company’s flagship TWS headphones. Thanks to new drivers and excellent ANC, their sound quality has been improved compared to the previous generation.
For a cheaper option, the Sony LinkBuds S are half the price and almost half the price of the WF-1000XM5. They’re comfortable, have good active noise cancellation, and sound quality and battery life are decent, if not amazing.
Sony Inzone Buds has a trick – well, it’s in the charging box. The small USB-C adapter allows any device, whether it’s a PS5, PC or even phones and tablets, to connect via a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connection (30ms). They also work via Bluetooth if you just want to listen to some music. Supports ANC and 360 Spatial Sound, as well as AI-driven microphone noise suppression.
If you’re in the market for a monitor, check out the OnePlus E 24. It’s 63% off and offers a 24-inch IPS panel with a 1080p resolution and runs at 75Hz. It has built-in USB-C and outputs 18W. Not enough for a laptop (at least under load), but enough for a phone. Either way, just plug in a cable and you’re done – now if only OnePlus phones had desktop mode. Anyway, there’s an HDMI port.
