WhatsApp has launched a new feature that makes it easier to search for messages.
Now you can easily search messages by date on WhatsApp for Android without having to dig through endless chats to find what you’re looking for. This feature is already available on iOS, Mac desktop, and WhatsApp Web.

To search for chats from a specific date, just click on a contact or group chat to drill down to the details. Click the search button just below the contact or group name.If you are in another country, you may need to click on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and select search options.
When you find the calendar icon, click on it and a calendar will pop up allowing you to select the exact date you want. But this feature is limited to finding chats from a single date. So if you want to search within a certain date range, sorry, that’s not possible.
Previously, WhatsApp searches were conducted through keywords. Enter a word and all messages with that keyword will pop up. Additionally, you can filter chats by media type (links, photos, videos, GIFs, audio, polls, and documents) right from the conversation list view.
