Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy S24 series, which contains the March 2024 security patch.
The update, which began in late February and follows a firmware release, improves the camera and adjusts display colors. But according to SamMobile, it will initially be limited to users in South Korea.
The latest patch brings firmware versions ending with AXBG. Unlike two weeks ago when a Vivid slider was introduced in advanced display settings, the focus this time is on enhanced security and stability.
Samsung’s official update release notes don’t highlight any changes. However, since the firmware size is a whopping 428MB, it is likely to only contain the March 2024 security patch and some minor bug fixes.
Reports are rolling in from Galaxy S24 owners in Canada and the United States that they are getting the update on their phones. More countries are expected to hit in the coming days.
If you’re wondering if your shiny new device got a patch, dig into your set up app.Once entered, please go to Software update part. If the update is ready, a nice button should appear that says “Download and Install.”
Samsung has maintained its reputation as one of the top players in the smartphone space by sticking to its routine of releasing security updates every month. Of course, the February 2024 update for flagship Galaxy devices came a bit late, but the company bounced back strong. The March update has been released, beating Google to the punch.
While the Galaxy S24 got the March patch first, naturally, older models like the Galaxy S23, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 will also get the patch later this month.
