Xiaomi can pop the champagne – last week’s poll suggested the Mi 14 Ultra will be one of the best smartphones of 2024, although it’s still early days. Unlike the Pro, the Ultra flagship is being launched globally, which is a good thing.
Judging from the results, a third of voters are ready to buy it now (if they are in Europe), and they can do so because the phone is available on Xiaomi’s online store.
However, some needed more convincing and held off until the comments came out. We did a hands-on review of the Mi 14 Ultra to get a closer look at the flagship, and we’ll have a full review to follow.
That’s half the electorate so far, let’s look at the other half. Unfortunately, and predictably, the Ultra’s €1,500 starting price puts it out of reach for many – a third of voters won’t spend that much on a phone, no matter how good it is.
That leaves only about 20% of voters who dislike Ultra. To some, this will be just a slight improvement over last year’s Mi 13 Ultra. There are 13 Ultras left in stores, so you might be tempted to buy one, but it’s harder than ever to find one. Of course, as time goes by, the price of Xiaomi Mi 14 Extreme Commemorative Edition will also drop.
