After Cloud puts on his new clothes, you’ll switch to Aerith, Tifa, and Red XIII. Before you unlock Tifa and Aerith’s beachwear, each of them will be assigned a few tasks. One of them is a party competition around the Costa del Sol, photographing some unusual cacti. It might be a little difficult to spot them at first, but this guide lists all their locations. So if you can’t wait to see the girls in their resort attire, you’re in luck.
How to find cacti on the Costa del Sol
You just need to shoot four cacti as Aerith or Tifa. You can press left on the d-pad to bring up a unique map indicating Cactuar’s location. L1 will further zoom in on the map. We’ve marked the location of each Cactuar Caper hotspot on the game map:
Contrary to what you might think, you are not photographing a green cactus, but the purple/pink cactus that is usually nearby. Once you enter the Cactuar Caper area, you will see a camera icon appear in the top center of the screen. Use the D-pad to pull the camera up and zoom in on the Cactuar until the percentage meter on the camera’s viewfinder matches.
Cactuar Caper Location 1: Pier
Near where you activate the Cactus Photo Quest, you’ll see two docks. Walk to the left facing the sea and you will see a pink cactus painted on the rock. Take one photo and move on to the next.
Cactuar Caper Location 2: Beach Entrance
If you go to where you went to the beach as Cloud before, and then switch to Aerith and Tifa, you’ll find the next cactus on the “Surf and Tan” sign.
Cactuar Caper Location 3: Rock near the Run Wild mini-game
If you go southwest from where you got the Cactus quest, near the Wild Mini Game Field, you’ll find pink cactus on some rocks facing the ocean.
Cactuar Caper Location 4: Fire hydrant near Shinra 8
For the last Cactus, return to the ship you arrived on, but don’t go all the way to the boarding entrance. Instead, check out the stretch of boardwalk where there are a few shops (southeast of where) Chadley station) and look for the southernmost fire hydrant. You’ll notice there’s pink cactus spray applied there.
There’s a lot of fun to be had on the Costa del Sol…even if they enforce some weird dress codes on the beaches. What mini games are there? FF7Which famous beach resort is your favorite?
