Corsair has launched the latest Hydro X series iCUE LINK XH405i RGB custom open-loop water cooling kit, replacing the old XH305i kit from 2020. The new kit comes with Corsair’s latest XD5 RGB ELITE pump and tank, XC7 RGB ELITE CPU water block, three QX120 RGB fans and a 360mm radiator. The pump, water block, and fan all feature the eponymous iCUE LINK integration that Corsair has been promoting throughout its latest generation of products.
The biggest hardware-related difference between the XH405i kit and the previous-generation XH305i kit is undoubtedly the inclusion of iCUE LINK hardware, which Corsair recently debuted with its iCUE LINK H150i RGB AIO cooler. iCUE LINK allows individual Corsair cooling components within the system to be connected directly, primarily to reduce cable clutter, but also provides greater, more granular control over individual components through the iCUE LINK hub at the center of the system. For example, each individual iCUE LINK compatible fan connected to an iCUE LINK hub can be set to its own speed, rather than requiring each fan to be connected to its own fan header on the motherboard or setting a common speed for all fans via : Multi-head cable.
XH405i offers two themes: invisible gray and white. Apart from appearance, both versions are identical and feature a combination pump and tank, a CPU waterblock compatible with AM5 and LGA 1700 sockets, three 120mm fans, a 360mm radiator and a central iCUE LINK hub. The kit also comes with all the accessories you need to build a custom loop: hard tubes, bending kits, fittings and XL8 clear coolant. Kits like these are generally aimed at those new to custom liquid cooling and those who want a completely new circuit but don’t want to spend too much time looking for individual components.
In addition, Corsair also launched the iCUE LINK XG7 RGB GPU water block for GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 Super graphics cards. As is typical with full-coverage GPU waterblocks, the XG7 has specific hardware compatibility requirements, so Corsair is making four versions of the waterblock. The company is targeting ASUS’ ROG STRIX and TUF cards, as well as MSI’s SUPRIM and GAMING TRIO series, offering RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 modules for each card series. Just like the other components in the XH405i kit, the GPU water block is equipped with iCUE LINK.
Aimed at the high end of the market, the complete XH405i package doesn’t come cheap: Corsair rates the entire cooling lineup at a suggested retail price of $700. Meanwhile, all four models of the XG7 GPU water block are priced at $230.
The iCUE LINK XH405i kit is available now from Newegg and Amazon, as well as Corsair’s own website.
